From Rail to Trail

An iconic piece of our city’s urban landscape, Katy Trail transformed Dallas when it came to life along the site of a former Union Pacific railway line. Treasured for its leafy, shaded corridors and ample space to walk, jog, bike, exercise, commute and gather, it serves as a lively catalyst for connectivity. A public park, it is maintained by Friends of the Katy Trail, a nonprofit organization that operates and enhances the Trail for the benefit of all.
